Get
Involved! Stop the Pipeline Before it Leaks!
In 1982, Governor John Spellman rejected a proposed oil pipeline, citing two reasons for his decision. The first was the danger of fire and oil spills. The second reason for the pipelines defeat was public outcry. The cross Cascade pipeline will be approved or rejected by the governor without direct input from voters. Making sure the governor sees widespread, active citizen opposition to the pipeline is a way for us to vote outside the ballot booth. This is why volunteering for Cascade Columbia Alliance and local anti-pipeline groups in your area is so important. In todays very busy world, nothing makes a stronger statement than citizens committing some of their time every month to a cause they believe in. CCA would like to thank dedicated volunteers who have already gotten involved by writing letters to the editor, helping with mailings, placing anti-pipeline signs in their yards, etc.
There are many ways you can help stop construction of a cross Cascade pipeline. From this page you can access links to membership forms--please down download this information. You can contact CCA to obtain a free yard sign and petition. We also strongly encourage concerned citizens to make their own comments on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement. To learn more about this check out Understanding the Review Process. Don't hesitate, get involved today!
Volunteers are critical to the operation of CCA. On the our membership form you will find spaces to indicate what volunteer activities you would be most interested in participating in. We can use your help with everything from the occasional mailing to graphic design projects.
